Answer:

Hint: Sum of supplementary angles is 180

Step1: Evaluate using addition of ratio

Given

ratio =2:7

Let angles as 2x and 7x

As we know that sum of supplementary angle is 180

⇒2x+7x=180

⇒9x=180

⇒x=20

2x⇒2(20)=40

7x⇒7(20)=140

Hence, the angles are 40

Given :-

Two Supplementary angles are in the ratio of 2:7

To Find :-

The angles

Used Formula :-

Sum of Supplementary angles are 180°

Solution :-

Two angles are in the ratio of 2:7

  • One angle is 2x
  • Other angle is 7x

Sum of Supplementary angles are 180°

=> 2x+7x = 180°

=> 9x = 180°

=> x = 180/9

=> x = 20°

One angle = 2x = 20×2 = 40°

Other angle = 7x = 20×7 = 140°

Verification :-

Sum of Supplementary angles are 180°

=> 40°+140° = 180°

=> 180° = 180°

Hence, proved !
