the required capacity of the container is the HCF of these two containers.

first, write down the prime factorization of the two numbers.

1020= 2 x 2 x 3 x 5 x 17

1190= 2 x 5 x 7 x 17

the common factors are(write lowest exponential powers)= 2,5,17

hence hcf of 1020 and 1190 is = 2 x 5 x 17 = 170

therefore, the required capacity of the container is 170 units

hope this helps

Answer:

1020 - 2 x 2 x 3 x 5 x 17

1190 - 2 x 5 × 7 x 17

Common factors- 2, 5, 17

HCF = 2 x 5 x 17

= 170
