Both the taps together can fill the tank in 6 hr

Solution:

Given that,

Tap A can fill a tank in 10 hours

Tap B can fill a tank in 15 hours

Both the taps are opened simultaneously

In how much time the tank will be filled ?

In, 1 hour, Tap A can fill \frac{1}{10} of tank

In, 1 hour, Tap B can fill \frac{1}{15} of tank

Therefore, both A and B can fill,

\frac{1}{10} + \frac{1}{15} = \frac{15+10}{150}\\\\\frac{1}{10} + \frac{1}{15} = \frac{25}{150}\\\\\frac{1}{10} + \frac{1}{15} = \frac{5}{30} = \frac{1}{6}

Thus, in 6 hours A and B together can fill the tank
