three times the number 'm ' is 3.m or 3m.


3  (m)  - 6 = 15.



3m -6 = 15



add 6 to both sides;



3m -6 + 6 = 15 + 6



3m = 21



dividing both the sides by 3 , we get;



3m /3 = 21 / 3



m = 7
