HI BUDDY,

■ CONVERTING 32 kmph AND 40 kmph IN meter/sec.
32 × 5/18 = 8.8 m/s
40 × 5/18 = 11.1 m/s

■ GIVEN AND CALCULATED
SPEED OF 1ST TRAIN, Ts1 = 8.8 m/s
SPEED OF 2ND TRAIN, Ts2 = 11.1 m/s
LENGHT OF 1ST TRAIN, Tl1 = 132 m
LENGHT OF 2ND TRAIN, Tl2 = 108m

■ TOTAL LENGHT
Tl1 + Tl2 = 132 + 108 = 240 m.

■ TOTAL SPEED OR VELOCITY
Ts1 + Ts2 = 8.8 + 11.1 = 19.9 m/s i.e. 20 m/s

■ TIME TAKEN TO CROSS
TIME TAKEN TO CROSS EACH OTHER = TOTAL DIATANCE/TOTAL SPEED = 240/20 = 12 sec.

●TIME TAKEN BY BOTH THE TRAINS TO TO CROSS EACH OTHER IS 12 SECONDS
