two trains A and B 100km apart are travelling towards each other on different tracks with starting speed of 50km/hr for both.the train a accelerates at 18km/hrsquare and train b retards at the rate of 18km/hrsquare .the distance covered by the train A when they cross each other

Distance between train A and train B = 100 Km

Right direction -----> taken positive +ve

Left direction <------- taken negative -ve

Speed of train A 50 km/hr

Speed of train B -50 km/hr

Acceleration of train A = 18 km/hr sq.

Acceleration of train B = - 18 km/hr sq.

RELATIVE MOTION

Speed(u) = 50 - (-50) = 100 km/hr

Acc = 18 - (-18) = 36 km/hr sq.

s = ut + 1/2 at sq.

100 = 100(t) +18(t sq)

9t sq + 50t -50 = 0
