Two trains A and B start from their station at the same time
Train A is moving towards the east direction and train B is moving towards the south
The speed of Train A is 2km per hour less than speed of train B
so, Speed of Train B
Speed of Train A = Speed of Train B - 2 = x - 2
After 5 hours they are 290km apart
Distance covered by Train A + Distance covered by Train B = 290
Distance covered by Train A = Time × Speed of Train A = 5(x-2)
Distance covered by Train B = Time × Speed of Train B = 5x
so, 5x + 5(x-2) = 290
5x + 5x - 10 = 290
10x - 10 = 290
10(x-1) = 290
x - 1 = 29
x = 29 + 1
x = 30
Speed of Train A is x - 2 = 30 - 2 = 28 kmph
Speed of Train B is x = 30 kmph
