according to the questions
there are two train cross each other in 12 sec but according to the
(2nd law of motion state that two object cross each other at the same speed the time that taken is considered as half because both cross each other)
the time will be twice so 12 sec is equal to 24 sec when time is applied on single train.
Now as we know speed is equal to Distance by time taken so


s = d \div t
s = 120m/24sec
which is equal to 5m per sec according to calculation
