Two trains, each 50 m long are travelling in opposite direction with velocity 10 m/s and 15 m/. The time

Given :

  • Length of the two trains = 50m
  • Velocity of 1st train, v₁ = 10m/s
  • Velocity of 2nd train, v₂ = 15m/s

To find :

  • The time of crossing each other?

Solution :

We know that~

  • Time = Total distance/Relative velocity

where,

  • Total distance = (50 + 50) = 100m
  • Relative velocity = (v₁ + v₂) = (10 + 15) = 25m/s

Substituting values~

⠀⠀⠀⟶⠀Time = 100/25

⠀⠀⠀⟶⠀Time = 4s

•°• The time crossing each other is 4 seconds.
