Two trains each ot length 240 m. are moving in the opposite directions in such a manner that the velocity of one is twice that of the other.
They take 4 seconds to cross each other. Thenthe velocity of the fast train is?

Let the speed of slower train be x and faster be 2x

Distance= 2*240= 480(As each train is 240 m long)

Using speed formula, Distance= Velocity*Time

i.e  480 = 3x*4  (speed of both trains, x+2x=3x)

So, x= 480/4*3 i.e 40 m/s

Hence the speed of slower train is 40m/s and faster train is 2*40= 80m/s
