Two trains leave for delhi for varanasi at 11 am & 11:30 am with speeds of 120kmph & 150kmph respectively . At what distance from delhi will the two trains meet

Answer: The two trains will meet at a distance of 300km from Dehli.

Explanation: Time gap = 11:30 - 11:00 = 30 min = 1/2 hr

distance gap = t × v = 120 × 1/2 = 60 km

velocity of approach = V2 - V1 = 150 - 120 = 30 km/hr

hence the gap distance would be covered in time T = gap distance ÷ velocity of approach = 60/30 = 2 href

So the distance at which the train would meet = velocity of second train × time T = 150 × 2 = 300 km

or in case of first trane time equals 2 and half so distance = 120 × 2.5= 300 km
