Two trains move in the same direction at speeds 50 kmph and 32 kmph respectively. a man in the slower train observes that 15 seconds elapse before the faster train completely passes by him. what is the length of faster train?

we have,
speed of faster train = 50kmph
speed of slower train = 32kmph
relative speed = speed of faster train - speed of slower train
= 50kmph - 32kmph
= 18kmph
= 18 × 1000 / 3600 [conversion of kmph to m/s]
= 5m/s
now length of faster train = relative speed x time elasped
= 5m/s × 15s
= 5m × 5
= 75m
hence the length of faster train = 75m
speed of faster train = 50kmph
speed of slower train = 32kmph
relative speed = speed of faster train - speed of slower train
= 50kmph - 32kmph
= 18kmph
= 18 × 1000 / 3600 [conversion of kmph to m/s]
= 5m/s
now length of faster train = relative speed x time elasped
= 5m/s × 15s
= 5m × 5
= 75m
hence the length of faster train = 75m
