Two trains started running from the same point at the same time in opposite directions (one towards north and other towards south). The speed of the two trains are 16 m/s and 14 m/s respectively. How much time will they take to be 378 km apart ? 3h 20min

To do the question follow the following steps.......

1.  firstly do the conversion of unit of distance i.e., from km to m it would be 378000 m.

2. then find the relative velocity of train A with respect to B .. it would be velocity of A + velocity of B ..... i.e., 30 m/s

3. now find the time by applying the formula distance/velocity ...... it would come out to be 12600 seconds this when converted into hours comes out to be 3 hrs 20 min

Explanation:

16 m/s + 14 m/s = 30 m/s

30 * 18/5 = 108 km/h

t = d/s

t = 378/108 = 3.5 hrs
