Answer:

FIRST WAR OF INDEPENDENCE WAS NOT ACTUALLY THE FIRST

Yeah, fellas, you read it correctly there. Revolt of 1857 is considered and taught as the first war of Independence in our history textbooks but the fact is- it is not the first revolt. There have been many revolts prior to 1857 and revolts in Bengal(1764), Vellore(1805), Berrackpore(1825), Santhal Rebellion(1855-56) are a few examples.

THE “CHAPATI” MOVEMENT

The Chapati movement is one of the most interesting and mysterious parts of the revolt of 1857. During the revolt, there was a circulation of properly baked Chapati(s) in several villages across India. The Chapatis were circulated by the Chowkidars of the village across the villages. Though the significance of motive of this act remains a mystery till date. It said that the chapatis consisted of some secret messages. Well, it remains a mystery.
