hey used to be used as cooling fluids in refrigerators and freezers, but they are no longer used as when the devices were destroyed, these gases would escape and react with UV and contribute to the hole in the ozone layer.

They were also the propulsion gases in spray cans, but again we have stopped using them now for the same reasons mentioned above.
