According to the question , let the two no.s be in the ratio 5:3

Let the no.s thus be 5x & 3x

Now 6 is added to each no.

So new no.s are :-
5x+6 & 3x+6.

Given that ratio of the new no.s is 11:7

So, (5x+6)/(3x+6)=11/7
By cross multiplication we have :-
7(5x+6)=11(3x+6)
Or,35x+42=33x+66
Or,(35-33)x=66-42
Or,2x= 24
Or,x= 24/2=12

So the first value =5x= 5X12=60.
