Given : Two varieties of wheat - A and B costing Rs. 9 per kg and Rs. 15 per kg were mixed in the ratio 3 : 7.

5 kg of the mixture is sold at 25% profit,

To find  : the profit made

Solution:

5 kg of the mixture

A : B =  3 : 7

=> A = ( 3/10) 5 = 1.5 kg

   B = (7/10) 5  = 3.5 kg

A cost  Rs 9 per kg

Cost of 1.5 kg  = 9 * 1.5  = Rs 13.5

B cost Rs 15 per kg

Cost of 3.5 kg of B = 15 * 3.5 = Rs 52.5

Total Cost = 52.5 + 13.5   = Rs 66

Profit 25 %

Profit = (25/100) 66  = Rs 16.5

the profit made = Rs 16.5
