resultant =  \sqrt{ {c}^{2} +  {d}^{2} +2cdcos \alpha    }

where alpha is the angle between two vectors.

 =  \sqrt{ {5}^{2} +  {5}^{2} + 2 \times 5 \times 5  \cos(40)    }

 \sqrt{25 + 25 + 50 \times 0.76}

 \sqrt{50 + 38}

 \sqrt{88}
