Answer:

Area of the Rectangle is 60 unit².

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Vertices of rectangle ( 6 , -1 ) and ( 6 , 9 ).

Remaining two are at y-axis.

To find: Area of the rectangle.

We know that all angles of the rectangle are right angles.

So, Drawing perpendicular lines from given vertices to y-axis we get remaining points that is ( 0 , -1 ) and ( 0 , 9 )

From this,

Length of the Rectangle is distance from ( 0 , -1 ) to ( 6 , -1 )

Breadth of the rectangle is distance from ( 6 , -1 ) and ( 6 , 9 )

⇒ Length = \sqrt{(6-0)^2+(-1-(-1))^2}=\sqrt{6^2+0^2}=6

⇒ Breadth = \sqrt{(6-6)^2+(9-(-1))^2}=\sqrt{0^2+10^2}=10

Area of the rectangle = Length × Breadth

                                     = 6 × 10

                                     = 60 unit²

Therefore, Area of the Rectangle is 60 unit².
