GIVEN :
- IN ΔABC A(1,4) , B(5,2) AND CENTROID G(0,-3)
TO FIND :
- COORDINATES OF C
SOLUTION :
LET COORDINATES OF C BE (x₃ , y₃ )
A( -1,4) B(5,2)
x₁,y₁ x₂,y₂
CENTROID = [ (x₁+x₂+x₃) / 3 , (y₁+y₂+y₃) / 3 ]
=> (x₁+ x₂+x₃) / 3 = 0 ; (y₁+y₂+y₃) / 3 = -3
=> ( -1+5+x₃) / 3 = 0 ; (4+2+y₃) / 3 = -3
=> (4 + x₃) = 0 ; (6 + y₃) = -9
=> x₃ = -4 ; y₃ = -15
∴ COORDINATES OF C(x₃,y₃) = (-4,-15)
HOPE IT HELPS!!!!
