GIVEN :

  • IN ΔABC A(1,4) , B(5,2) AND CENTROID G(0,-3)

TO FIND :

  • COORDINATES OF C

SOLUTION :

LET COORDINATES OF C BE (x , y )

A( -1,4) B(5,2)

x,y x,y

CENTROID = [ (x+x+x) / 3 , (y+y+y) / 3 ]

=> (x+ x+x) / 3 = 0 ; (y+y+y) / 3 = -3

=> ( -1+5+x) / 3 = 0 ; (4+2+y) / 3 = -3

=> (4 + x) = 0 ; (6 + y) = -9

=> x = -4 ; y = -15

COORDINATES OF C(x,y) = (-4,-15)

HOPE IT HELPS!!!!
