Two vessels a and b contain milk and water in the ratio 7:3 and 4:3 respectively. find the ratio in which the mixtures must be taken from the two vessels so that the ratio of milk and water in the new mixture is 2:1

7:3 means milk is 7/10
4:3 means milk is 4/7
2:1 means milk is 2/3
by using mixture allegation method

7 \div 10 \:  \:  \:  \: 4 \div 7 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: 2 \div 3
now multiply all by 10,7,3
we get
147 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: 120 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: 140 \\ 140 - 120 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: 147 - 140
this gives ratio 20:7 which is required ratio
