two vessels contain milk and water mixed respectively in the ratio 3:1 and 5:3. find the ratio in which these two are to be mixed to get a new mixture in which the ratio of milk to water is 2:1?​

Answer:

1st vessel milk and water = 3+1=4,

milk=3×4, water=1×4

=12 and 4

2nd vessel milk and water = 5+3=8

milk=5×8, water=3×8

=40 and 24

when mixed - milk=40+12, water=24+4

=52 and 28
