Two vessels contain mixture of milk and water. In 1st mixture milk is 31.25% less than water and in 2nd mixture the difference between quantity of milk and water is 11.11% of total mixture. If 10.5 litre of 1st mixture and 17.5 litre mixture of 2nd mixture is mixed then find the ratio of milk and water in the new mixture.

Answer:

Milk : Water = 55 : 71

Explanation:

1st vessel M:W=5 : 16

2nd vessel M:W=5 : 4

                        1st           2nd

Mixing ratio  10.5 liter :    17.5 liter

or                          3     :    5

1st vessel quantity mixed M:W   =   5*3*3 : 16 *3*3 =>  45  : 144

2nd vessel quantity mixed M:W =   5*5*7 : 4*5*7    => 175 : 140

3rd mixture M:W  = (45+175) : (144+140) => 220 : 284 =>55 : 71

3rd vessel mixture ratio = 55 : 71  {Answer}

Answer: 1:1

answer is approximate in terms

Explanation:

two vessels having mixture of milk and water

in first: 31.25% less than water

so, we convert into fraction it will become 5/16

means milk is present in first mixture is 11:16 ratio

in second type of mixture milk which is 11.11% less than water so the fraction becomes 1/9 means 5:4 is the ratio of milk and water

now, 10.5 lit *11/27 = 4.2777 or 4.3 milk

10.5lit*16/27=6.22 is water

now 2nd mixture 175*5/9= 9.722 or 9.7 milk

then 17.5*4/9=7.7777 or 7.8 is water

now add the quantity both types of milk and water separately

4.3+9.7 =14 lit milk

6.2+7.8 = 14 lit water

hence 14:14 or 1:1 is the correct answer
