The ratio should be 13:2

Given data :

Wine : Water in vessel p = 5:2

Wine : Water in vessel q = 8:5

Final ratio of Water : Water = 9:4

Let, the ratio of two solution = x : y

So, wine and water amount from first vessel = 5x and 2x

Wine and water amount from second vessel = 8y and 5y

So,

Total wine = (5x+8y)

Total water = (2x+5y)

Now,

(5x+8y) : (2x+5y) = 9:4

20x+32y = 18x+45y

20x-18x = 45y-32y

2x = 13y

2x/13y = 1

x/y = 13/2

x : y = 13 : 2 (answer)
