Question

Two vessels together contain 5 2/3 litres of milk .If one vessel contains 3 1/4 liters of milk, Then the quantity of milk contained in another vessel is.

Given

  • Two vessels contain 5×2/3Litre milk
  • one vessel contain 3×1/4 litre milk.

To Find

  • quantity of milk contained in another vessel is = ?

Solution

let the quantity of another vessel be = x

According to question

\sf→ x+3×\frac{1}{4}=5×\frac{2}{3}\\\sf→ x+ \frac{13}{4}=\frac{17}{3}\\\sf→ \frac{12x+39=68}{12}\\\sf→ 12x= 29\\\sf→x=\frac{29}{12}\\\sf→x=2\frac{5}{12}litre

Hence

the capacity of another vessel is 2×5/12 litre.
