Two waves have frequencies 256 Hz and 320 Hz and amplitudes in the ratio 2:3. Compare their (1 pitch (ii) loudness.

(i) LOUDNESS

∴ Amplitude of two waves, is same

∴ their loudness is same i.e in 1:1

(ii) PITCH

Ratio of their frequencies

256 Hz : 512 Hz

∴ Ratio of their pitch = 1 : 2
