Two weeks ago, I bought two pizzas, 100MB cell phone data and 20 litres of petrol. Last week I bought one pizza, 100MB of cell phone data and 30 litres of petrol. And this week I bought two pizzas, 300MB of cell phone data and 10 litres of petrol. The price of petrol increased by 40% this week compared to the previous two weeks, but other prices stayed the same. In each of the three weeks, I spent a total of R430. What is the price of cell phone data (per 100MB)

Answer:

price of cell phone data (per 100MB) = Rs 30

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say Per pizza Price = Z  Rs

Price of Data per 100 MB = D  Rs

Per Litre petrol Price in first two Weeks = P Rs

Price of Petrol in Last week = P + (40/100)P = 1.4)

two pizzas, 100MB cell phone data and 20 litres of petrol.

=> 2Z  + D  + 20P  = 430

one pizza, 100MB of cell phone data and 30 litres of petrol.

=> Z +  D  + 30P  = 430

Equating Both

2Z  + D  + 20P  = Z +  D  + 30P

=> Z = 10P

Using Z + 10P

=> 40P + D = 430

I bought two pizzas, 300MB of cell phone data and 10 litres of petrol

=> 2Z + 3D + 10*1.4P = 430

=> 20P + 3D + 14P = 430

=> 34P + 3D = 430

Equating Both 40P + D = 34P + 3D

=> 2D = 6P

=> P = D/3

=> 34(D/3) + 3D = 430

=> 34D + 9D = 1290

=> D = 1290/43

=> D = 30

price of cell phone data (per 100MB) = Rs 30
