Two wires of equal length, one of copper and other of manganin (an alloy) have the same thickness. Which one can be used for (a) electrical transmission lines (b) electrical heating devices. Why?

The copper can be used for electrical transmission because copper has low resistance. But for heating you WANT high resistance so you would use the manganin matereial
