The wire Q will become hotter.

Given:

Two wires P and Q

Length and diameter are the same for wire P and Q.

Rp is greater than Rq

To Find:

Which wire will become hotter?

Solution:

We know more the power is dissipated more it becomes hotter.

P = V²/R  (for parallel combination)

From the above formula, Power is inversely proportional to the resistance of a wire.

So, When the resistance is more, the lesser the power dissipated thereby lesser it  will become hotter

Therefore, The wire Q will become hotter.
