Two wires X and Y are of same material having same area of cross section but length of X is twice of length of Y. Which one has greater resistance? Justify your answer.​

The formula for resistance:

R=ρl/A

It is given that l₁=2l₂

For the wire X:

R₁=ρl₁/A=2ρl/A

For wire Y:

It is clearly visible that R₁>R₂

Therefore wire X has more resistance than wire Y.
