Let the present age of Ramesh's son be x.

Two years ago, age of Ramesh's son = x                                                                 Ramesh's age two years ago = 3x

Two year later,

Ramesh's son's age = x + 4

and, Ramesh's age = 3x + 4

Therefore, 2(3x + 4) = 5(x + 4)

      =>   6x +8  =  5x + 20

      =>   6x - 5x = 20 - 8

      =>   x = 12

So,  Present age of Ramesh's son = (x + 2) = (12 + 2) = 14

And, Present age of Ramesh = (3x + 2) = {(3 X 12) + 2} = (36 + 2)

                                                                 = 38
