two years ago,salim was thrice as old as his daughter and six year year later he will be four years older than twice her age. how old are they now?

Let the present age of salim be x and yhat of his daughter be y2 years ago age of salim=x-2age of daughter=y-2(x-2)=3(y-2)x-3y=-4 after 6 yearsx+6=4+2(y+6)x-2y=10Upon solving the above two eq we get y=14 x=38

Let Salim present age be 'S' and daughters age be 'D'
According to 1st sentence
S-2 = 3(D-2)
2nd:-
S+6 = 4+ 2(D+6)

solve both.
D= 14
S=38
