hence now ävg age of family will be

18+(2*8/8)
=20 years

now let avg year of baby =x

now given After the addition of a baby, the average age of family remains the same today

hence [(20*8)+x]/9=18
or 160+x=162
or x=2 years

hence age of baby=2 years
