Answer:

Let the present age of Sarita be x and present age of Supriya be y.

Two years ago, Sarita's age = x-2

Two years ago, Supriya's age = y-2

Ratio of their ages, as was two years ago,

(x-2)/(y-2) = 3/8

=> 8x - 16 = 3y - 6

=> 8x - 3y = 10........ eqn (1)

Four years hence, Sarita's age= x+4

Four years hence, Supriya's age = y+4.

Ratio of their ages, four years hence is,

(x+4)/(y+4) = 4/9

=> 9x + 36 = 4y + 16

=> 9x - 4y = -20........ eqn (2)

Solving 1 and 2,

Multiplying eqn 1 with 4 and eqn 2 with 3.

The eqns are :

32x - 12y = 40......eqn (3)

27x - 12y = -60......eqn (4)

Subtracting, eqn (3) - eqn (4)

5x = 100

=> x= 20.

Hence, Sarita's present age is 20.

Guess this is it!! Hope this helps

Two years ago the age ratio of sarita and Supriya was 3:8

Let common ratio be x

\bf{\underline{Present\:age\:of\:Sarita\: ⇒ 3x + 2}}

\bf{\underline{Present\:age\:of\:Supriya =>8x + 2}}

                     \bf\blue{ After\: 4\:years}

Age of Sarita ⇒ 3x + 2 + 4

Age of Supriya ⇒ 8x +2 + 4

⇒  Ratio  = 4 : 9

\dfrac{3x + 6}{8x+6}=  \dfrac{4}{9}

⇒ 9 ( 3x + 6 ) = 4 ( 8x + 6 )

⇒ 27x + 54 = 32x + 24

⇒ 54 - 24 = 32x - 27x

⇒ 30 = 5x

\boxed{\boxed{\red{6\: = \:x }}}

Now,

\bf{\underline{Present\:age\:of\:Sarita}}

⇒ 3 ( 6 ) + 2

⇒ 18 + 2

=> 20 years
