Step-by-step explanation:

Let the ages of mother and her daughter be 8x,X before 2 years

Present ages are 4x,21x

According to the problem,

8x+X+4=21x+4x-4

9x+4=25x-4

4+4=25x-9x

8=16x

X=2 years

age of daughter=4(2)=8 years

age of mother =21(2)=42 years

Difference between their ages =42-8

=34 years

Therefore mother is 34 years more than her daughter.
