two years later a father will be eight more than three times of his sons age .. find the linear equation ?

let present age of son = x
sons age after 2 yrs = x + 2

fathers present age = y
fathers age after 2 yrs = y + 2

given : (y+2) = 3(x+2) + 8
           y + 2 = 3x + 6 + 8
           y - 3x = 12

Answer: (y - 2)=3(x+2)+8
               y+2=3x+6+8
               y-3x=12
