let salim's age be & daughter's age by y
x-2=3(y-2)
x-2=3y-6
x-3y=-4
equation 1....
x+6+=(y+6)2+4
x+6=2y+16
x-2y=10
equation 2......

eq1 -eq2
x-x-3y+2y=-4+2
y=2
x= y3 - 4
=6-4
×=2

Answer:

salim's age =38

daughter's age =14

Step-by-step explanation:

let the age of salim be x and his daughter be y

two years ago:

x-2=3(y-2)

x-2=3y-6

3y-x=4

x=3y-4

6 years later:

x+6=2(y+6)+4

x+6=2y+12+4

x-2y=10

put x=3y-4 in above eq

3y-4-2y=10

y=14

put y=14 in eq

x-2*14=10

x=38
