Answer: Hypogeal Germination
Explation: In this type of germination, the epicotyl elongates and the cotyledons remain below the soil. Pea, mango, maize, rice, gram and groundnut have germination of this kind. Epicotyl → The upper portion of the axis of the seedling above the cotyledons.

Differences between epigeal and hypogeal type of germination:-
Epigeal type of germination
- Hypocotyl elongates and pushes the cotyledons above the ground.
- For example, bean.
Hypogeal type of germination
- Epicotyl elongates and cotyledons remain underground.
- For example, gram.
Just soak the beans for 7 to 8 hours, then place them in the container. Leave the container in a warm spot, and the beans should sprout within a day or so. You can also sprout green gram using a damp cloth. To do this, you'll need to wrap the beans in the cloth and leave them in a dry container overnight.
