Black soil is also known as Regur soil or Black cotton soil . It is dark in colour and is suitable for cotton cultivation . This soil is residual soil , i.e., it is at the place of its origion over the underlying rocks. Since,it is formed by the denudation of volcanic rocks , it is also known as lava soil . ✔✔
Distribution : The Regur soils are concentrated over the Daccan lava tract which include parts of Maharashtra,Madhya Pradesh , Gujarat , Kerala , Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, And some parts of Tamil Nadu .✔✔
