Given :    the coordinates of point A are (8 , 0) and the coordinates of point B are (3 , 7),

To Find :  y-intercept of AB

Solution:

A ( 8 , 0)

B = ( 3, 7)

Slope = ( 7 - 0)/( 3 - 8)  =  -7/5

Equation of  AB

y  - 0  = ( -7/5) (x - 8)

=> 5y = -7x  + 56

=> 7x  + 5y  = 56

y-intercept of AB => x = 0

Hence 0 + 5y = 56

=> y = 56/5

y-intercept of AB is 56/5
