Question

The value of \frac{\sqrt{12} }{\sqrt{10} } . \frac{\sqrt{5} }{\sqrt{6} } is closest to the whole number ________.

Answer

The closest whole number will be 1.

As in the question the fractions are in square root form and we can see they are not perfect square root.

According to a mathematical formula,

\sqrt{x} x \sqrt{y}  = \sqrt{xy}

\frac{\sqrt{x} }{\sqrt{y} }   =  \sqrt{\frac{x}{y} }

The product of the square root of two numbers is equal to the whole square root of the product of the number, same goes for division.

So, \frac{\sqrt{12} }{\sqrt{10} } . \frac{\sqrt{5} }{\sqrt{6} }  =\frac{\sqrt{60} }{\sqrt{60} }

                  = \sqrt{\frac{60}{60} }

                   = 1

As the numerator and denominator in the above fraction were obtained by multiplying one fraction with another and the result obtained was the same as we can see in the above-solved equation is equal and thus the ratio obtained is 1:1.

Therefore the closest whole number will be 1.
