Answer:

The revolt of 1857 was indeed a great revolt in indian history

This revolt was fought by many Indian kings and it was a also main step taken by Indians in getting freedom

There where many causes for this war they

Military cause

economic cause

socio religious cause

administrative cause

immediate cause

British were disturbing Indians in all the above fields so they revolted against British

But this mutiny failed because

Indians had no good weapons

Indians lacked good leaders

There was no unity among Indians

Some indian kings placed British secret

Indian soldiers looted common people so they did not get their support

This revolt surely failed to gain freedom but it made the British to fear about Indians and power

After this event Queen proclaimation was passed in 1858 in which

Governer general was called back and viceroy was appointed

no interference in indian religion issue

Good administration will be there in India and so on

I hope it is helpful
