The types of animal tissues are epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous.

  • Epithelial tissues cover the outside of organs and structures in the body.
  • Connective tissues are consists of living cells and non-living substance.
  • Smooth, skeletal, and cardiac are the muscle tissues in animal cells.
  • Nervous tissues are used to receive and transmit electrical impulses from specific areas of the body and send them to specific locations in the body.

Types of plant tissues are dermal, ground, and vascular tissues.

  • Dermal tissue mediates most of the interactions between a plant and its environment.
  • Ground tissue provides support and stores food or water.
  • Vascular tissue runs through the ground tissue inside a plant.

There are mainly 4 types of animal tissue :

  1. Connective tissue -  They are connecting, packing and supporting tissue
  2. Epithelial tissue - Protective and covering tissue
  3. Muscular tissue - Contracting and relaxing tissues carrying movements of various organs.
  4. Nervous tissue - Conducting impulses between central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and other organs.

Following are the types of plant tissue :

  1. Meristematic tissue - Made of unspecialized cells capable of dividing by mitosis, found in several locations in the plant, responsible, for growing new parts of the plant.
  2. Dermal Tissues ( epidermis & periderm) - protection & prevention of water loss.
  3. Ground tissue (parenchyma, collenchyma, sclerenchyma) - photosynthesis, food storage, regeneration, support, protection.
