There are six types of chemical reactions :-

❇Combination reaction

When two or more reactants undergoes chemical reaction to form a single product, the reactions are called combination reactions

A + B → AB.

❇Decomposition reaction

A decomposition reaction is a type of chemical reaction in which a single compound breaks down into two or more elements or new compounds. These reactions often involve an energy source such as heat, light, or electricity that breaks apart the bonds of compounds.

AB → A + B

❇Precipitation reaction

A precipitation reaction is a type of chemical reaction in which two soluble salts in aqueous solution combine and one of the products is an insoluble salt called a precipitate

A + Soluble salt B → Precipitate + soluble salt C

❇Neutralization reaction

A neutralization reaction can be defined as a chemical reaction in which an acid and base quantitatively react together to form a salt and water as products

Acid + Base → Salt + Water

❇Combustion reaction

Combustion is a chemical process or a reaction between Fuel (Hydrocarbon) and Oxygen. When fuel and oxygen react it releases the heat and light energy. Heat and light energy then result in the flame

A + O2 → H2O + CO2

❇Displacement reaction

In displacement reaction a more reactive metal displaces a less reactive metal but a less rwactive metal cannot displace a more reactive metal.

A + BC → AC + B
