Answer:

There are many different types of co-operative societies and they are:-

1:- Consumer's Co-operative Societies:- These are formed by consumers to obtain goods at reasonable prices for their daily requirements. They deal directly with manufacturers and wholesalers, eliminating middlemen.

2:-Housing Co-operative Societies:- These cooperatives buy land and develop buildings on it for the purpose of residency. Almost all the societies we see in Maharashtra are co-operative Housing Societies.

3:- Farmer's Co-operative societies:- These consist of farmers who pool their resources and buy their agricultural tools and equipment in bulk. This gives them an edge in negotiating the price of their produce while selling it to traders.

4:- Marketing Co-operative Societies:- These consist of marketing experts and salesmen who sell their products through a centralised agency, eliminating middlemen.

5:- Producer's Co-operative Societies:- These are formed by producers, who all work together and produce commodities. The workers are paid wages from the sales proceeds after the commodities are sold.
