there are two types of Endoplasmic Reticulum and rough endoplasmic reticulum and smooth endoplasmic reticulum and rough endoplasmic reticulum has ribosomes present in it which gives it as a rough structure its major function is to synthesise proteins and where are smooth endoplasmic reticulum do not have ribosomes present and its main function is to synthesise lipids
