The different types of negation are:

1) Explicit negation

'NOT" is used here. For example - I do not like playing football.

2) Implicit negation

Implicit means hidden, so here you will not see directly negating words like 'NOT' or "NO'. Here different words are used individually. For example - The principal dismissed the letter.

3) Affixal negation

Here, the such prefix is attached to words, which makes the word look positive, however, the meaning is negative.

For example - You are incompetent. in - prefix.

4) Non - verbal negation

Words like none, nobody are used here.
