Sensory nerve is a nerve that pass impulses from receptors toward or to the central nervous system. All the signals that receptor perceives are transferred to the central nervous system through these nerves only.

Motor nerve is a nerve that conveys impulses from the central nervous system toward or to the muscles or glands. All the signals that central nervous system wants to transfer to the muscles or glands are transferred through these nerves only.

A mixed nerve is a nerve that contains both sensory and motor fibers.
