There are mainly three types of Physical quantities:-

1. Scalar

2. Vector

3. Tensor

Scalar Quantities

Physical quantity has only magnitude or magnitude and direction both but does not follow the vector sum rules is known as Scalar Quantity.

Examples: Speed, Distance, Angle etc.

Vector Quantity

Physical quantity has both magnitude and direction and also follow the vector sum rules is known as Vector Quantity.

Examples: Displacement, velocity etc.

Tensor

Those physical quantities which are neither vector nor scalar are considered as 'Tensor'.

Examples: Moment of Inertia etc.
