The antibodies are of diverse types. Therefore, for detecting the presence of different types of antibodies, there are different types of serological tests. The following are some of them:
1. Agglutination assay
Whether antibodies exposed to certain antigens will cause particle clumping is shown in an agglutination assay.
2. Precipitation test
Whether the antigens are similar by measuring for the presence of antibody in body fluids is shown in a precipitation test.
3. Western blot test
The presence of antimicrobial antibodies in your blood by their reaction with target antigens is identified by the western blot test.
